As the year fast comes to a close we all reflect on the past year and dream of what is to come. There are number of people whose New Year resolution will be to change the way they are living, especially if they are battling with alcohol and drug addiction. The road to change is not an easy one, recovery is perhaps the hardest challenge one will ever face.

The holidays are an equally challenging time for those already working a program of recovery. Reconnecting with family members can be trying, to say the least; old feelings often come out of nowhere and staying clean and sober can be difficult. The potential for relapse is huge due to the constant partying that occurs during the holidays. It is so important that those working a program stay vigilant about their sobriety, staying close to your support network is crucial.

If you do find yourself in times of trouble, help is always a phone call away. Do not hesitate…to find an AA meeting, call your sponsor or call someone else you know in the program.

We wish you healthy, safe and peaceful holidays.
