Cottonwood Tucson’s Annual Hildreth and Stone Awards presented

On Friday, December 11, 2015, Cottonwood Tucson’s staff gathered to honor two of their fellow employees by presenting The Hildreth Award and The Stone Award.

2015 Hildreth Award Recipient ~ Dawn Majalca

Dawn Majalca

Dawn Majalca has been employed at Cottonwood since January of 2007 as a Pharmacy Tech Coordinator. During this year, Dawn was promoted to Pharmacy Technician Supervisor. She is licensed as a National Certified Pharmacy Technician and by the Arizona Board of Pharmacy. Dawn is extremely knowledgeable and well informed about pharmaceuticals and pharmacy procedures.

She shares her wealth of knowledge to promote her profession by teaching Pharmacy Technician students at Pima Community College in Tucson. Dawn is the “glue” that holds the Pharmacy Department together. She is responsive, reliable, dependable, and always pleasant. She is able to manage numerous details with accuracy and efficiency and is a problem solver and diligent at her work.

When Dawn is not working at Cottonwood or teaching at Pima Community College, she likes to spend time with her family, including the family dog, and manages to get some time for herself to let her creative juices flow.

Congratulations to Dawn!

2015 Stone Award Recipient ~ Mark Levine

Mark is known for his humility, gentleness and his ability to make sincere connections with everyone he meets. When he is not at Cottonwood, Mark likes to spend time with his wife, his dogs and enjoys watching baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox.

Congratulations to Mark!

A little about our Hildreth and Stone Awards

The Hildreth Award now in its 21st year was created by a former employee and member of the Board of Directors Margaret Hildreth. The award features respect and responsibility displayed by an employee toward Cottonwood Tucson’s patients and fellow employees.

In 2003 the Stone Award was created to honor Cottonwood therapist Dan Stone. Going forward each year, one clinician is selected who personifies tough clinical values while displaying compassion and empathy, especially when working with very challenging clients.

As we journey through this holiday season, we appreciate each and every employee; they work hard sharing their enthusiasm with each other and with our clients and family members. Here’s to positive energy, empathy, problem solving and the miracle of recovery.
