Lilian sees the therapeutic process as a learning process. She is committed to supporting clients to achieve psychological growth and well-being by reviewing beliefs and attitudes, practicing awareness of behaviors, and developing resilience and communication skills. She is trained to work with cognitive-behavioral approaches (CBT) and with somatic approaches (SE), that include awareness of the body in the therapeutic process.

Lilian has earned a Master of Social Work degree from ASU, focusing on mental and behavioral health, a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Arizona, focusing on health communication, interpersonal and intercultural communication, and a Master of Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro focusing on cultural paradigms of health and health systems. She is a native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese, who learned languages at an early age. She is prepared to work with clients who speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French.
