Damon initially received his medical training serving his country as a U.S. Navy Corpsman. He completed his education in physician assistant studies at Charles R Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles California. He then served in the United States Public Health service as a commissioned officer Lieutenant junior grade physician assistant.

Damon has over 27 years of experience as a PA. He has worked in the behavior health and addiction medicine field in some capacity for more than 15 years and is certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants. He believes optimum health involves treating people physically mentally and spiritually.
