Trauma Therapist

Bonnie is originally from the mountains of North Carolina and has been a resident of Tucson for more than 10 years. Her career began in art education teaching art in the school system and within the community. She learned through teaching art that the expression and processing of emotions is incredibly important. Bonnie then pursued her Master of Social Work to become a therapist. She holds a Master’s of Social Work from Arizona State University and has provided therapy to children, teenagers, and adults throughout her career. Bonnie has been a primary mental health therapist at Cottonwood in the past and is now a trauma specialist. She specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in her therapy practice, along with brain-spotting, inner child, and parts work. She also focuses on PTSD and dissociative disorders, including Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and works on an individual’s strengths to propel them toward healing. Bonnie is passionate about connecting people with their core, true selves and beginning a healing journey that brings inner peace as well as a positive sense of self.
