Annette Kohl

Acupuncturist

Annette’s career in the healing arts began with her training and practice as a massage therapist. She practiced massage for six years and, during this time, she developed a sensitive and intuitive approach to healing. Annette has also spent time studying the social aspects of healing and illness.  Acupuncture called to Annette because its treatments were very helpful to her personally and because she wanted to learn a more exacting and internal practice. Acupuncture seemed both very simple and quite complex – treating many issues of disease by inserting fine needles into points along meridian flows in the body. In addition to acupuncture, Annette has received training in herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha – practices that are all part of a long and diverse tradition of Asian medical tradition. Recently, Annette completed a DACM degree focusing on advanced treatment and research within an Integrative Medicine context. Annette feels honored to be a practitioner in this tradition and is grateful to many teachers who have found the patience to reach across cultures to share this knowledge.
